Machame Route 7 Days Climbing Kilimanjaro
Day 1: Arusha– Machame Gate – Machame Hut
After early breakfast drive to Machame gate then at Machame gate begin climbing through mountain rainy forest trail for 5-7 hours, then arrive to Machame hut located at 3100m for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Machame Hut – Shira Hut
After breakfast ascend the rain forest then cross the valley, steep rocky ridge covered with heather and a river gorge at 3,658m for almost 5 to 7 hours to reach Shira hut located 3,800m for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Shira Hut – Barranco Hut
After breakfast trek to Shira plateau and the lava tower, then proceed to arrow glacier before reaching to Baranco hut nestled at 3,950m for dinner and overnight. The walking time takes 5 to 7hours.
Day 4: Barranco Hut – Karanga Valley Hut
After breakfast ascend the Barranco wall then proceed to Karanga valley. Arrive at Karanga valley hut (4 to 5 hours) located 3,900m for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Karanga Valley Hut – Barafu Hut
After breakfast leave Karanga Valley and climb through lava ridge to reach Barafu camp. Upon arrive at Barafu camp have enough rest before mid night trekking to Uhuru peak 5895m the highest point in Kilimanjaro.
Day 6: Barafu Hut – Uhuru Peak
Begin summit at midnight then cross rhino point and Stella point 5,745m on the way to conquer the highest point in Africa Uhuru peak standing 5895m. After reaching the peak begin descending to Barafu camp for late breakfast before proceeding down to reach Mweka hut at 3100m for dinner and overnight (4 to 5 walking hours).
Day 7: Mweka Hut – Mweka Gate – Arusha
After morning breakfast descend to Mweka gate taking 3 to 4hours walking. Upon arrival to the gate followed by climbing certificates awards. The after meet your driver and drive back to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight.
