4 Day Mount Meru Trekking Arusha
Day 1: Arusha to Momela Gate then Miriakamba Hut
After breakfast drive to the Momela Gate, located in Arusha National Park (approximately an hour and a half from the city centre). From Momela Gate you will begin the trek to the peak of Mt. Meru. On the first day you will climb to Miriakamba hut (4 to 5 hours) where you will have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut
After breakfast you begin the climb to reach Saddle Hut, standing 3,500m high. At Saddle Hut you will have lunch, and a short rest before the short hike to the Little Meru peak, standing at 3,820m high. After this you will return to Saddle Hut for dinner and stay overnight.
Day 3: Saddle Hut to Summit (Socialist peak 4,565m)
Day 3 is the Summit day, a 5 to 6 hour trek will see you reach the highest peak of Mt. Meru, Socialist Peak at 4,565m above sea level. After summitinh you will begin the descent, stopping at Miriakamba Hut for dinner and staying overnight.
Day 4: Miriakamba to Momella Gate then Arusha
After breakfast begin the final descent to Momela Gate, you will then be driven to your accommodation in Arusha or the airport.
